Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions Brighton kitchen customers ask us most. Anything else —just ask.
- Which areas do you cover?
- Principle Kitchens & Carpentry is based in Brighton and fits kitchens across Brighton & Hove and the immediate surrounding area. If you're nearby but not sure whether we cover you, call 01273 541126 and ask — we're happy to advise.
- Do you supply kitchens, or fit kitchens I buy elsewhere?
- Both approaches work. Many of our customers buy their kitchen units from a supplier and we carry out the full installation — including any building work, plumbing and electrics. If you're at an earlier stage, we'll help you plan the design and choose a kitchen to suit your taste and budget before fitting it.
- Do you handle the plumbing and electrical work too?
- Yes. Our team includes trusted carpenters, builders, plumbers and electricians, so the whole job is managed by one team with a single point of contact. You will not need to find and coordinate separate trades.
- How long does a kitchen installation take?
- It depends on the size of the kitchen and how much building work is involved. A straightforward replacement is typically finished within one to two weeks, while projects involving structural changes, replastering or a new layout take longer. We give you a clear timescale after the site visit and keep you informed throughout.
- How much does a new kitchen cost to fit in Brighton?
- Every kitchen is different, so we price each job individually after a site visit rather than guessing. The visit is free and there is no obligation — you will get an honest assessment and a clear quote for exactly the work you need.
- Are you vetted and reviewed anywhere I can check?
- Yes. We have been Checkatrade members since February 2010, where we currently hold a 10/10 rating from 240 verified customer reviews. You can read every review on our Checkatrade profile.
- Will my home be liveable during the work?
- In almost all cases, yes. We understand a new kitchen brings a period of upheaval, so we work to minimise disruption — tidying up at the end of each day, keeping you informed and completing the job as quickly as good workmanship allows. It's something customers mention in our reviews again and again.
- How do I get a quote?
- Call 01273 541126, email peter@principlekitchens.com, or use the contact form on this site. We'll arrange a convenient time for Peter to visit, look at the space and talk through your plans.
